About Our Chapter
With over 250 alumnae in the North Fulton area, the Greater North
Fulton Alumnae Chapter was founded in September 2003 to serve Phi
Mus in Alpharetta and Cumming. During the first meeting, our charter
was signed by over twenty women. The group's first year goal was
to recruit ten percent of the women in the area to join the chapter
and we exceeded our goal by five, bringing our chapter total to thirty.
An amazing feat for a new chapter. Additionally, our chapter found
its first group of leaders to carry this group into the future with
bright ideals and a love for our common bond, Phi Mu!
In the three years since the chapter was chartered there have been
enormous accomplishments. Greater North Fulton has....
- Attracted 30+ motivated sisters to join our chapter
- Sponsored an alumna initiate
- Participated in the Star 94 Radiothon for Children’s Miracle
Network (CMN) three years in a row
- Collected over $2500 for CMN
- Showed our solidarity with our Heart-to-Heart chapter (Theta
Zeta) by sending them goodies throughout the year
- Decorated and delivered pumpkins for the children at Kennestone
Hospital and Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta
- Collected toiletries and supplies for the mothers and children
at the Fulton County Women’s Shelter and the Partnership
Against Domestic Violence.
Although the chapter is based in Alpharetta, our chapter members
also reside in Roswell, Cumming, Marietta, Dunwoody, Forsyth County,
and Atlanta.
The chapter visits once a month to develop our sisterhood and donate
our services to philanthropic organizations in North Fulton. Each
event is a chance for us to take a break from our everyday and refresh
ourselves with our sisters. We can help others at the same time as
well.
We are a sounding board and mentor for each other too. The group
of women that make up this chapter are amazingly special, all shapes
and sizes, all ages (21-75) and come from all over the country -
from as far away as California to Florida.
The North Atlanta region has grown dramatically since our chapter's founding and there are now almost 2,000 alumnae sisters in our area! We hope that you too will find a home with our chapter. Please join
us at our next event to see just how much fun you will have because
Phi Mu is for a lifetime!
